哈当厄尔峡湾（Hardangerfjord）

The Sognefjord

The Sognefjord, Norway's longest and most fascinating fjord, with the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord, the Flåm Railway and many opportunities for hiking and other activities all year round, extends all the way to the foot of the Jostedalsbreen glacier and Jotunheimen National Park. All the fjord arms are lined with charming small villages where a varied range of activities are available, for example Flåm, 'the Art Village' of Balestrand, the Book Town in Fjærland, the old village of Gamle Lærdalsøyri, Solvorn and Skjolden.

The Geirangerfjord

The iconic Geirangerfjord is considered one of the most beautiful fjords in the world, and is included on the UNESCO World Heritage list together with the Nærøyfjord. The Geirangerfjord is one of Norway’s most popular natural attractions. The fjord is 260 metres deep while the surrounding mountains are 1600-1700 metres high. The fjord is also known for its spectacular waterfalls and deserted fjord farms high up on the steep cliffsides. The famous and characteristic waterfall “The Seven Sisters” is situated halfway through the fjord. When you visit the Geiranger area, it is possible to stop at amazing viewpoints, such as Dalsnibba, Flydalsjuvet and Ørnesvingen.

The Hardangerfjord

If the Sognefjord is the King of the fjords of Western Norway, the Hardangerfjord is the Queen. Hardanger has a lot to offer with many scenic gems; fjords, mountains, waterfalls, glaciers and orchards. The 179-kilometre-long Hardangerfjord offers scenery that even the most well-travelled tourists will find spellbinding. Here you will find cultural and natural gems side by side. If you travel in May, you may well see the blossoming fruit trees in Hardanger!

The Lysefjord

The Lysefjord is the southernmost of the biggest fjords in Norway. The 40-kilometre-long fjord is flanked by steep mountains, some more than 1,000 meters. The Lysefjord is not only long and narrow, it is in places as deep as the mountains are high. The two most well-known sights in the Lysefjord are the Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) and Mount Kjerag. The Pulpit Rock is located in Forsand municipality and towers 604 metres on the northern side of the Lysefjord.

This ferry trip is a unique opportunity to experience several of the most beautiful fjords in Norway – all in one trip: the Nærøyfjord, Aurlandsfjord and Sognefjord. The classic car ferries will take you on a 48- kilometre (39-mile) fjord cruise – up close to the best fjord landscape in Western Norway.

New Hjørundfjord cruise from Ålesund 

New route with 3 daily departures between Ålesund and Øye. Sailing this spectacular fjord, surrounded by steep mountain sides is a memorable journey. You can stop for lunch in Øye or make it an overnight trip, returning by boat the next day. The boat stops in Trandal and Urke on request. The route is operated by The Fjords, and you can buy tickets online or at the tourist office in Ålesund. They also sell full-day roundtours including Hjørundfjord and Geirangerfjord, linking it all together with public buses. If you organize group travel, using your own coach, you can easily drive the bus between Ålesund and Øye. You can also easily make roundtrips including both Geirangerfjord and Hjørundfjord.
